Cottage Health 2020 Culture Audit

United Way Volunteering UPDATED: Cottage Health supports the United Way and we kick off our employee campaign with an ice cream social. We also volunteer for community projects at the Day of Caring and host local students for hospital tours, reading and lunch at Fun in the Sun summer days. Touring the giant freezer in our kitchen is always a hit with the kids, and they love our Patient Simulation Lab with manikins that perform very realistic bodily functions. Honoring Our Volunteers UPDATED: The nearly 1,000 Cottage volunteers dedicate thousands of hours annually in almost every department of the organization. Volunteers use their talents to complement the Cottage staff, ensuring every patient’s stay is a pleasant one. Whether it be assisting with transporting patients from one area to another, greeting visitors or working behind the scenes in our business offices, volunteers are greatly appreciated and make lives better for patients and for Cottage staff. Volunteers at Cottage committed over 190,000 hours of service and provided service to 62 areas, departments and committees at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and over 11,000 hours of service in 12 areas, departments and committees at Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital. Each year, Cottage has a special Volunteer Awards and Recognition Luncheon. Our volunteers are a valued part of the Cottage family. See Jayne Wickman’s stor y here about her decades of service at a Cottage volunteer. She is now 100 years old. 112/119 Start | Contents | Highlights | Business Description | Hiring & Welcoming | Inspiring | Speaking | Listening | Thanking | Developing | Caring | Celebrating | Sharing • Celebrating 6.33
