Encouraging, Educating and Developing Cottage Health Staff Cottage Health encourages and reimburses advanced education, so employees can accomplish the highest level of success. Employees can be reimbursed for the cost of classes and books required for approved educational courses, conferences, CEs and degree programs – up to $1,000 a year for full-time and up to $750 a year for part-time. In addition, Cottage Health will provide bonuses of up to $1,000 for each nationally recognized certification received, and $500 for re-certification. Healthcare Student Loan Program Cottage Health offers its employees a Healthcare Education Loan program to provide financial support for: • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or other related field, based on organizational need • Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) For non-employees, the Healthcare Education Loan program provides support for full-time students who live in the Tri-County area to pursue one of these degrees: • Associate Degree in Nursing through Santa Barbara City College • Bachelor of Science in Nursing through California State University, Channel Islands • Clinical Laboratory Scientist through Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital School of Medical Technology See clinical laboratory scientist, Allison’s story here and RN, Angelica’s story here. Loan Forgiveness Program Employees may choose to repay education loans through active employment at Cottage Health in which the loan is forgiven one dollar for each hour worked.
