Cottage Health 2020 Culture Audit

Inspiring Stories Are a Way of Life UPDATED: Every member of the Cottage Health team plays an important role in the health, safety and comfort of our patients and their families, during times they are most vulnerable and most in need of our care and compassion. Cottage Health employees are a part of something big, something life-changing and often life-saving. Our employees take great pride in Cottage Health and in the work they do at our hospitals. Everyday Heroes Special things happen every day at Cottage. Throughout the year, at all campuses, the Everyday Heroes program pays tribute to employees for going above and beyond in serving patients and co-workers. For those who do something exemplary above and beyond the call of duty and in the spirit of our core values, a quarterly celebration is held. Once the child was found, Elsa helped coordinate the reunion between mother and child. Elsa was instrumental in this case and the entire staff was awed by her compassion.” Nominee: Claudia Aguirre, Wound Care Center “The Wound Center was alerted to a pediatric intensive care patient with a life-threatening condition that required emergent hyperbaric treatments. This was brought to our attention on a Friday and the wound center is closed over the weekends. In order to treat this patient Claudia volunteered to help support the treatments over the weekend and proceeded to coordinate care between the various departments. Claudia took it upon herself to bring an age-appropriate movie for the child to watch during her treatment and developed a trusting relationship which lessened her fear of being placed into the hyperbaric chamber. Claudia was recognized by Dr. Garofalo as being an instrumental piece in the success of this child’s 6.25 How does your company inspire employees to feel that their work has more meaning than being just a job?
