Phasing in Amazing Celebrations NEW: Two new pavilions recently opened at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital after 14 years of planning and construction, adding 134,000 square feet of space and state- of-the-art facilities. Hundreds of staff attended the special grand opening and enjoyed tours, treats and some special activities for the kids. Fest for the Best (Employees in Healthcare) NEW: After Cottage Health was selected as one of Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Healthcare, we were eager to honor the employees who make the organization what it is and recognize them for who they are: the absolute best. It took two days to celebrate, and it was well worth it. Employees Recognized for Milestones UPDATED: It is one of Cottage Health’s most anticipated events each year. What happens when a group of over 500 long-service Cottage employees and their guests fill a beachside ballroom? Lots and lots of applause, fun, laughs, awards and a delicious dinner. Each year, employees with service milestones (5, 10, 15, 20…) are invited to bring a guest to the event, which is held at a 4-star hotel on the waterfront in Santa Barbara. The fun and lively evening is capped off with a humorous skit by our executive team. The skit for 2019 was Avengers- themed. Our Cottage Avengers fought the evil Thanos to protect the Cottage core values stones of excellence, integrity and compassion. While Thanos was able to steal them and head to another planet, our Cottage superheroes return to Santa Barbara only to realize that nothing has changed. Our core values are intact, because they’re not in stones, but in the hearts, minds and talents of everyone who works at Cottage. 6.33 How do you encourage fun and camaraderie among your employees?
