Employees can respond anonymously and are highly motivated to answer honestly and provide constructive feedback. Almost every employee participates in this voluntary and confidential survey. This year: • Participation was 94.08%, placing Cottage Health in the top 6% in the nation • 3,464 employees invited, 3,259 participated We conduct the full survey of 75 questions with room for comments. The survey data (including comments) are aggregated and shared at the workgroup level. We identify areas for improvement system-wide and at department levels. On alternate years, we have done a “pulse” survey, with a subset of questions focusing on the system-wide and departmental goals. Cottage Health ranks in the 90th percentile by the American Hospital Association for the Western Region which includes all of Alaska, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. This includes 341 hospitals and over 99,000 employee responses. When these results came in, our CEO sent an email to every employee to announce the outcomes, encourage use of surveys for setting goals and to express appreciation and congratulations for every employee’s contribution to achieving Cottage Health’s mission and making it a great place to work. The 2017 NDNQI (National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators) survey validated that Cottage Health’s RN Professional Enjoyment score is higher than the Magnet Mean across the country. The survey is completed on a two-year cycle and used to implement positive changes. Community Advisory Committee NEW: Late in 2018, Cottage Health extended invitations to community leaders to hear their thoughts as part of a new Cottage Community Advisory Committee. Committee members are apprised of updates and upcoming advancements. Then, an open forum is held where Cottage’s leadership seeks feedback from the committee. 71/119 Start | Contents | Highlights | Business Description | Hiring & Welcoming | Inspiring | Speaking | Listening | Thanking | Developing | Caring | Celebrating | Sharing • Listening 6.28
