Every year, we conduct an analysis of our hospitals. Recent data analyses show that the employee population closely resembles that of the inpatient population. In addition, while other organizations encourage employees to retire by a certain age, we are known for retaining employees an extraordinarily long time: 11.9% of our current workforce is 62 years old+ and 14.4% of our current workforce has been working at Cottage 20+ years. Not only do we actively try to retain our employees, we celebrate and honor those who have been with us for milestone anniversaries. Every year, at an employee recognition dinner, our colleagues with the three highest milestones are recognized individually with a short video highlighting their accomplishments.
