It is a time to salute the women and men and who serve others with selfless dedication to make their lives better. • National Rehabilitation Awareness Week The mission of the National Rehabilitation Awareness Week (NRAF) is to educate people about the benefits and impact of rehabilitation, develop programs which aim to increase opportunities for the nearly fifty million Americans with disabilities, and help those who are disabled live up to their fullest potential. At the Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital, we have awards for caregivers while we also honor our patients. Job-Specific National Recognition Weeks/Months Many of the professions within the hospital environment have a National Recognition Week. Departments with those positions are encouraged and supported in showcasing their respective services and honoring their staff. • Medical Librarians Month At Cottage Health, the SAGE Medical Library has an extremely important role. Many do not realize that librarians participate in clinical rounding in the event physicians or nurses need to reference a case study. During the month of October, we promote the importance of our medical librarians.
